Consumer purchasing habits are changing and the Internet has become the major business channel. There are increasingly more entrepreneurs choosing to sell online as the best place to offer a product or service. A clear example is Manzanapolis, which aspires to become the top website for the selling and buying of second-hand Apple products.

A secure, trustworthy and transparent community
According to the website, e-commerce and the online buying and selling of secondhand products is gaining ground over traditional ways of purchasing, as has also happened with the sale of technological products. In fact, data collected and published by the website says that six out of every 10 Europeans resell their possessions, while two out of every three buy online bargains with, in general, about 30% resorting to the secondhand market.

The start-up, headed by Albert Ruiz and Mario Espósito, two professionals who decided to become entrepreneurs, focuses on secondhand Apple products, while providing a secure, trustworthy and transparent community. "We want to facilitate access to quality products for anyone of any age and we firmly believe in reuse as a basic value of our project," says Ruiz.

Easy to use
The seller follows the process for publishing his or her product, for which the recommendation engine suggests a market price for selling the product. Once published, Manzanapolis verifies the veracity of the ads and finds a buyer. Both potential customers and sellers say where they want to pick up the product or where to deliver it; they can also use the franchises of logistical suppliers. When the customer has received the product, he or she has three days to verify whether it is in satisfactory condition.

Manzanapolis works all over Spain and its creators estimate that by the summer the platform will be available in other countries.

Since it was launched in September, the website, which is completely mobile-ready, has attracted more than 1,000 registered users, with more than 1,000 visits a day, and in three months more than 100 transactions have taken place. The company, funded privately, recently began a round of investment that they hope to bring to a close in the next three months.
